Important advancements were produced in the last years in two complementary fields of research: networking and distributed computing technologies, and respectively intelligent robots. From this point of view, promising interdisciplinary applications were developed in computer vision, geospatial data systems, human-robot interaction, planetary mapping and robot software, health care, physical medicine & rehabilitation, intelligent control, medical robotics, motion planning, multi fingered manipulation, robot vision, robot cognition, robot learning.

The aim of this workshop is to contribute to better research results in using artificial techniques and distributed computing technologies for robotics systems and applications.

iR 2013 will be held in conjunction with the 7th International Symposium on Intelligent Distributed Computing (IDC 2013) in Prague, Czech Republic, September 4-6, 2013.

The workshop welcomes high-quality papers including, but not limited to the following topics:

• Distributed fusion of sensor data streams
• Distributed problem solving and decision making
• Modeling and simulation of intelligent distributed systems
• Intelligent data processing
• Intelligent robots
• Simulations of groups and crowds
• Social, medical & protecting robots

All submissions will be reviewed according to the 7th International Symposium on Intelligent Distributed Computing - IDC'2013 peer-review policy and will be included into the Symposium Proceedings, which will be published by Springer as part of their series Studies in Computational Intelligence. The papers should be prepared according to the IDC'2013 requirements: papers should have at most 10 pages length and must be formatted according to Springer format for multi-authored works.

Extended versions of the best papers accepted and presented at this symposium may be considered for publication in a Special Issue of an internationally recognised IF journal Computing and Informatics.
